Getting a motorhome for your family or you and your spouse to travel around in can add a lot of luxury and convenience to your camping trips, but sometimes the models that are fresh out of the factory can be a little pricey. If you’re looking for the benefits of a motorhome without paying top dollar, consider stopping by Ryan’s RV Town and checking out our used motorhomes for sale. We proudly serve our neighboring city of Seattle, Washington.
Of course, the biggest advantage of buying a pre-owned motorhome is the price tag. They won’t be nearly as expensive as some of their newer counterparts. Despite feeling and functioning like a home, they’re still vehicles, so the minute they roll off the lot for the first time, they depreciate in value, which is a big plus for you.
There are other great reasons to buy used, one of which is access to information. You should be able to ask for a maintenance history report for an idea of what’s already been worked on and how well-cared-for the vehicle was while in possession of the previous owner. You can also check out online forums and reviews to get a feeling for the experience other owners have had with a particular model year.
On top of the homework we’ve listed above, you’ll want to perform an inspection when you get serious about purchasing a particular used motorhome. This should include thoroughly checking the entire frame for things like holes and points of damage that might lead to problems down the road. Look for water damage, possible mold growth, and other signs that you should move onto a different model.
When it comes to buying a pre-owned motorhome, there’s an additional step you’ll want to take that you don’t have to do with other RVs: checking the drivetrain. Because motorhomes come with an engine, you’ll need to inspect it like you would a used car. If this seems a little bit technical for you, then ask a professional to perform their own inspection and look for things you might miss (this is a good tip in general, even if you do check out the engine for yourself).
With all this in mind, it’s time to stop by Ryan’s RV Town so we can give you the complete tour of available pre-owned motorhomes. Keep in mind, our used inventory is limited, so don’t wait to find your perfect RV! We serve Tacoma and Bellingham, Washington.
